Hello, I’m Kim!
I’m a native Californian and I’ve always been drawn to nature and beauty.
I live in Los Angeles, close to my family, and never too far from the ocean.
I love to shoot on location, combining the beauty of my subject with the natural beauty and texture of our surroundings. I often work in San Diego too, as I lived there for ten years.
I fell in love with Photography over 12 years ago when I lived in Cardiff-by-the-Sea in North County San Diego and began photographing the ocean and all the beauty that surrounded it. This love grew into photographing people with small businesses who needed images to promote themselves and their brands.
I began going to workshops and learning more about photography and studied with two of my favorite photographers, Brooke Shaden and Joyce Tenneson.
I’m compelled to create images that tell a story. If I’m photographing a person, I work to tell the story of who they are, at this point in their lives, and what they are working to become. If I’m photographing a family, or a couple, I work to capture the play and emotion between them.
I furthered my studies of Photography at UCSD and began taking jobs from individuals and entrepreneurs who wanted to tell their story - the story of who they are or what they offer that serves this world.
It thrills me to see the images created with my clients used masterfully to adorn walls, brand a business, or to simply show someone who they are in ways they don’t see in the mirror. I especially love working with those who are going through a transformation and working to grow into the person they are meant to be.
There is an emotive quality to my images, a softness that resonates with those I work with.
I make photo shoots a fun experience and spend time getting to know you beforehand so nerves are non-existent. It’s almost like a playdate for adults, and some say it’s better than therapy, except you’re also left with images that make you feel amazing!
